The India NGO Awards is a unique, national competition that aims to celebrate and reward the best non-governmental and non-profit organizations by showcasing examples of best practice and successful resource mobilization. The awards focus on professional management, innovation in local resource mobilization, and the effectiveness of the organization's activities in improving the lives of the people they serve. The India NGO Awards 2012/13 was jointly funded by the Rockefeller Foundation and EdelGive Foundation.
HFI became the finalist for INDIA NGO AWARD in 2012-13. Total numbers of applicants were 272 from all over the country and after 4 levels of selection and rejection process, 13 finalists were chosen and HFI was one of the four in the large category. There are three categories large, medium and small, based on resource mobilization capabilities.
